Central PA Beer Tour of '04

Thursday was Veterans Day so I was off. It was perfect opportunity to head out to Eastern Pennsylvania and drink some beer. Unlike this part of the state, breweries and brewpubs actually thrive out there. They are close enough together that I would be able to visit 6 breweries in one day. It sounded like a challenge but it also sounded fun.

Brewerymania

Tomorrow Heather and I are going to Harrisbrug where we are going to start the mother of all pub crawls. We are going to try to tour 6 breweries tomorrow. Appalachain, Troegs, Bubes, Lancaster, Stoudt’s and Victory. Along with touring breweries and drinking beer I’m hoping to find some great photo opportunities in central PA.

Who started the war of 1812?

Since today is Election Day and last night I watched a documentary on the war of 1812, let’s have a little history quiz about the war. I have always found the war of 1812 intriguing. America was young, and the outcome was far from certain. Can you imagine what it would have been like to hear that an attacking army invaded Washington and set fire to the city burning down Congress and the White House?

More Red Star Brewery Gift Certificates

The Red Star was on the Clear Channel Dining Deals again. You can buy $50 gift certificates for only $25. So when you do the math (two times twenty-five, carry the one...) you get a lot of free beer! And if you haven't tried the beer from the Red Star, you are missing out. I think it's the best brewery in the area.

37 hours down... 1 to go?

I think i'm on the tail stretch of the longest shift I've ever worked. I started at 4am Friday and I think I'm finally done, lets hope that the testing finds no problems. Yeah it's a brief post, what did you expect?

iRiver H300 and digital photography

One other quick digital photography note. I quite accidentally discovered that the new iRiver H300 series MP3 player has support for file transfers from USB mass storage devices, i.e. digital cameras and card readers. That's awesome, tunes, and up to 40 gigabytes of storage for your photos. Super idea iRiver, keep up the good work.

Histrogramania

Today I was reading the Digital Photography Blog and saw an article about using histograms. I’ve seen them both on my camera and in Photoshop but never understood how that worked. I think I was assuming that since I never had heard about using histograms, that they must not be very important. Now I’m kicking myself for not learning about them earlier.

All kinds of things from Brewtree.com, ask me what.

120 GB Hard disk
<

I thought that I'd better start compiling a list of what I want for Christmas. It seems that relatives are always asking me what I want and I have no idea, so I'll add things to this list as I think of them.Things I Really Want:
